Wampus Art Show

Grade 4

From mask making which at once explores the universality and specificity of transformation from different regions and time periods, to the discussion and creation of nonobjective color-field painting, students have the opportunity to engage in creative and critical thinking, discover new and diverse perspectives, and transform ways of seeing and thinking. Through our work together, students have explored a variety of media, art historical concepts and art making practices. Guided by informed decision making, intuition, an exploration of materials, choice and their imagination, these processes have resulted in the beautiful, thoughtful and creative work exhibited here!

Learning the color wheel and how the color wheel teaches artists how different colors work together. In our weekly art classes, students develop and refine techniques such as portrait drawing, mask making, landscape drawing to name a few.  Generous donations helped grow the art program for all the students at Wampus.
